Here are three things to know:
1. HCA and BCBS of Georgia had until Sept. 30 to resolve contract negotiations and ink a new deal. However, they were unable to reach an agreement on rates before that date.
2. The fallout means roughly 2 million Georgia residents could face out-of-network rates when accessing their hospital, provider or healthcare services, according to WTOC11.
3. HCA has eight hospitals in Georgia, as well as numerous medical groups.
