Certificate of Need Approved for New Hospital on Maui

The Hawaii State Health Planning and Development Agency has approved a certificate-of-need application for a new hospital in Lahaina, Hawaii, on the island of Maui, according to a report by Pacific Business News.

The new hospital will be the island’s second hospital and will serve residents on the west side of the island.

The 53,900-square-foot, $46 million West Maui Hospital and Medical Center will be designated as a critical access facility and will offer emergency care, diagnostic radiology, clinical laboratory, pharmacy and social services.
