Little Rock, Ark.-based Baptist Health has launched Arkansas’ first centralized OB Hub, using AI-driven technology to continuously monitor mothers and babies across its seven delivery hospitals, which care for more than 6,600 babies annually. The system provides labor and delivery services in Arkadelphia, Conway, El Dorado, Little Rock, Monticello, North Little Rock and Stuttgart.
The hub uses PeriGen’s PeriWatch Vigilance technology. Experienced labor and delivery nurses monitor patients alongside bedside staff, tracking babies’ heart rates, mothers’ vital signs, contractions and labor progression, according to an Oct. 27 news release.
The AI system continuously reviews patient data and alerts bedside teams when monitored ranges fall outside safety limits. The technology also allows care teams to securely view patient data on mobile devices and automatically alerts hospital leaders to persistent concerns.
