St. Croix Health in St. Croix Falls, Wis., broke ground on a new health campus, marking the start of a project supported by a $105 million low-interest loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Four things to know:
1. The new campus will replace the organization’s existing critical access hospital in downtown St. Croix Falls and will provide hospital care and many outpatient services in a modern facility, according to a July 1 hospital news release shared with Becker’s.
2. The project also will address long-standing parking challenges, provide room for future expansion and feature an emergency department approximately twice the size of the current department.
3. Construction is underway, and the campus is expected to open in spring 2028.
4. St. Croix Health secured a $95 million direct loan and a $10 million guaranteed loan through USDA Rural Development in November.
