Vanderbilt, Encompass plan 2nd rehab hospital

Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt Health and Birmingham, Ala.-based Encompass Health plan to build a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Lebanon, Tenn.

The freestanding facility will feature all private rooms, a therapy gym, an activities of daily living suite, in-house dialysis and pharmacy services, according to a Nov. 25 news release.

Alongside 24-hour nursing care, the hospital will also offer physical, occupational and speech therapies.

The hospital is slated to open in 2028 and aims to expand access to specialized rehabilitation services for patients in Middle Tennessee. It marks the second joint-venture rehab hospital between Vanderbilt and Encompass Health, which also operate Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital in Nashville.
