The health system will renovate 40,000 square feet of space in Pardee Hospital to create the 33-bed unit, according to a Dec. 30 news release. The unit is expected to open in January 2026, and will treat patients aged 12 to 17.
Funding for the facility was provided by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, managed care organization Vaya Health and the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
