UMass Memorial Health considers ED for HealthAlliance Hospital

Worcester, Mass.-based UMass Memorial Health Care may pursue a new emergency department at Leominster, Mass.-based HealthAlliance Hospital, Worcester Business Journal Online reports.

UMass Memorial CEO Eric Dickson, MD, said the project needs state approval and it would be three or four years before ED construction commences, according to the report.  

HealthAlliance is anticipated to further expand as the hospital was approved for a merger with UMass Memorial – Clinton (Mass.) Hospital Oct. 1.
