Southwest General CEO Receives Ohio Hospital Association Donald R. Newkirk Award

Thomas Selden, president and CEO of Southwest General in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, has been named the 2014 Donald R. Newkirk Award recipient by the Ohio Hospital Association.

The Donald R. Newkirk Award honors an individual who has made a significant lifetime contribution to healthcare in Ohio. It is the highest honor of the OHA.

Mr. Selden has served in healthcare leadership positions for 23 years. He served as an officer in the U.S. Army Medical Services Corps, president and CEO of the Cleveland Clinic Health System’s east region, president and CEO of Parma (Ohio) Community General Hospital and director of marketing at Akron (Ohio) City Hospital.
