Here are four things to know.
1. Orlando Health Foundation President John Bozard said the June 12, 2016, Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando highlighted the medical center’s need for the expansion.
2. The project would double ORMC’s 1,250-square-foot trauma center.
3. Adding to the center’s six patient bays and upgrading equipment are also part of the plan.
4. The hospital expects to raise half of the required funding to start the construction by early 2018, Mr. Bozard told WFTV 9.
