Munster, Ind.-based Powers Health has kicked off construction on its $80 million, five-story outpatient center on its Community Hospital campus in Munster.
The 125,724-square-foot center will comprise physician offices and outpatient services such as cardiac rehabilitation, imaging, infusion, neurology, physical therapy and noninvasive cardiology procedures, according to a May 5 news release shared with Becker’s.
The outpatient center is part of a larger, multi-phase expansion plan in the coming years, which will occupy a total footprint of around 440,000 square feet, once complete.
Powers Health comprises four nonprofit hospitals: Community Hospital, St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, Ind., St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, Ind., and Powers Health Rehabilitation Center in Crown Point, Ind. It also comprises Hartsville Village, a continuing care retirement community in Munster, according to its website.
“This transition allows us to repurpose that space for additional private patient rooms and expanded inpatient care,” Randy Neiswonger, CEO of Community Hospital, said in the release. “This is an investment in the health and future of our community.”
