The patient requested towels to take a shower, and minutes later the fire alarm went off and staff saw water leaking from the patient’s room, the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s office reported. Water subsequently flooded the entire floor.
Police arrested the patient, who was charged with creating a false alarm and destruction of property. He was later released from custody.
