Many hospitals and health systems have started their new year off by investing in growth. 

New York City-based Maimonides Children's Hospital, part of Maimonides Health, has expanded its neonatal intensive care unit to support more patient beds and neonatal care and service access, according to a Jan. 5 news release shared with Becker's.

A rising number of health systems are expanding their outpatient footprints and forging joint ventures to develop more ambulatory surgery centers as care continues to migrate from inpatient to outpatient settings.
