Several hospitals have launched large fundraising campaigns to support research and capital projects. Below are five of the biggest campaigns, as reported by Becker's.

Falls Church, Va.-based Inova Health plans to invest $1 billion to build a new medical campus out of an 11-acre site, which was recently purchased by the city of Alexandria, Va., for $54 million, the Commercial Observer reported Nov. 23.

New York physician group Community Care Physicians is collaborating with Capital District Physicians' Health Plan to form a management services organization. 

In the last two months, 10 hospitals and health systems announced, advanced or completed expansion and renovation projects with price tags of $500 million or more.

Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke's University Health System on Nov. 20 opened its hospital in Lehighton, Pa.
