Orlando Health looks to build more freestanding ERs

Orlando (Fla.) Health is looking to build two new freestanding emergency rooms, adding to the health system’s six current freestanding ERs, the Orlando Sentinel reported March 24.

One of the new freestanding ERs will be built on the site of a former Harley Davidson dealership. 

The second project will redevelop its smaller Longwood, Fla.-based South Seminole Hospital into an ER as the health system builds a larger hospital in Seminole County.

Construction on the Longwood location is expected to start in 2024.
