The 110-bed hospital’s fiscal measures include a 5 percent pay cut for 77 salaried employees, ending a 3 percent contribution to its pension program and raising employee health plan contributions from 5 to 15 percent.
The hospital has been pummeled by the recession. From 2008-2009, inpatient stays fell from 2,775 to 2,244, losses from charity care rose from just under $1 million to $3.3 million and bad debt rose from just under $1 million to more than $6.2 million.
