Here are five things to know.
1. The new center, dubbed the Mothers Center, will provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care to patients before, during and after a high-risk pregnancy. It is the first center in the country to focus on this area of health.
2. The 5,300-square-foot outpatient center will consolidate all medical specialists into one location to help enhance care for expectant mothers.
3. The Mothers Center will house four exam rooms, three consult rooms and meeting spaces for specialists to collaborate, including maternal fetal medicine experts, cardiologists and psychologists.
4. Women will also have access to coordinated medical care, as well as counseling, services, nutrition resources, telemedicine and integrated follow-up care.
5. “The Mothers Center serves as a national model for providing expectant mothers with a single point of access to all of the subspecialists they may need during their pregnancy,” said Steven Corwin, MD, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian.
