The health system is considering whether or not the system’s mission of providing quality health care is best served by operating the insurance company, according to the report.
Preferred Health Systems previously limited its in-network facilities to Via Christi facilities. However, the insurer recently signed in-network contracts with Galichia Heart Hospital and Wesley Medical Center, both in Wichita. Additionally, Via Christi recently agreed to be an in-network provider to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, according to the report.
