Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital closed March 28 when the new Gates Vascular Institute opened.
Chason Affinity proposed a $65 million project that would create a new school of veterinary medicine and include selective demolition, adaptive reuse and historic preservation.
Uniland Development proposed a $100 million project called Chapin Place, which would include condominiums, apartments, townhouses, a wellness center, office space, retail and a boutique hotel.
Robert G. Shibley, the dean of architecture and planning at the University at Buffalo, founder of the Urban Design Project and a lead consultant on city and regional projects, will lead a jury of community leaders and Kaleida Health officials in judging the reuse contest, according to the report. The jury’s recommendation will go to the Kaleida Health board of directors.
The health system aims to choose a developer by July 1.
