The project falls under Jackson Health System’s $1.8 billion initiative to update its facilities over the next 10 years.
Jackson North’s expansion includes 10 new operating rooms, three labor and delivery rooms, a larger emergency department and a new 30-room intensive care unit, along with a new entrance and lobby.
Jackson Health selected the consulting firm Gresham, Smith and Partners to design the expansion.
Construction is expected to start in the third quarter of 2017. The project should be completed in 2020.
