In the News: Hospital Construction Surging in Dayton, Ohio

Over the past year or so, 22 hospital construction projects in were either completed or are in the works in Dayton, Ohio, according to the Dayton Daily News.

This includes two hospital replacements and 10 hospital satellite facilities.

Hospital officials say the construction, which totals more than $1 billion, is necessary for the hospitals to remain competitive for privately insured patients, but insurers say such growth may also cause problems if the hospitals cannot fill the new beds, according to the story.
