Golisano Children’s Hospital plans to construct behavioral health unit

Fort Myers-based Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida is planning to construct an inpatient psychiatric unit and an outpatient mental health clinic, according to The News Press.

As part of the proposal, the children’s hospital would work with other mental health providers in the area to provide referrals and ongoing care for children.

The new eight-bed psychiatric unit, if approved by hospital officials, will open in 2019. The project is estimated to cost $5 million.
