Tallahassee-based Florida State University and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare broke ground on a Panama City Beach healthcare campus, FSU said Jan. 17.

The FSU Health-Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Medical Campus will include a 100-bed hospital with an emergency center, cardiology procedures, inpatient surgery and imaging, the report said. The hospital is expected to be complete by the end of 2027.

The campus spans 87 acres near a retirement community, the report said. Developers are planning to build an 80,000-square-foot medical office building that will house primary care, urgent care, an ambulatory surgery center, and cardiology and orthopedic services.

The medical office building is expected to be complete by the end of 2024, the report said.
