The biggest project being planned by Fletcher Allen is a new $85 million inpatient building. It is planning $15.4 million in renovations for its mother-baby unit and research center. It is also planning to build a new data center for about $8.5 million and to replace imaging equipment and buy a new MRI for another $9 million, approximately.
Finally, the system plans to invest $7.4 million in the information technology system at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, Vt., which would be meshed with Fletcher Allen’s.
Fletcher Allen will soon seek the approval of the Green Mountain Care Board, the state board that regulates hospital budgets and major capital expenditures, for these planned projects, according to the report.
