Cincinnati-Area Hospitals Saw Net Income Plummet in 2008

Ohio Health Market Review found that Cincinnati-area hospitals saw their combined net income fall from $290.5 million in 2007 to $14.7 million in 2008, according to report by the Business Courier of Cincinnati.

Allen Baumgarten, a Minneapolis-based healthcare consultant who compiles the review, said inpatient days dropped nearly 4 percent in 2008 as the numbers of uninsured rose.
