Ascension Sacred Heart opens 4th freestanding ED in Florida

Pensacola, Fla.-based Ascension Sacred Heart opened a freestanding emergency department in Pace, Fla., April 13.

This is the fourth freestanding ED the system has opened in the Pensacola area, according to an April 13 system news release. The 11,000-square-foot emergency room is staffed by 40 clinicians and features two triage areas, a trauma room, 10 treatment spaces, an on-site lab and imaging capabilities.

The facility will be operated jointly by Sacred Heart Pensacola and Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart.
