AdventHealth opens 27th Florida freestanding ER

Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth opened its $21.5 million AdventHealth Meadow Woods emergency room March 10 in Orlando, Fla., making it the health system’s 27th freestanding ER in the state. 

The 13,700-square-foot facility comprises 12 patient rooms, respiratory therapy services, diagnostic imaging, an on-site and full-service laboratory, and a pharmacy, according to a March 10 news release shared with Becker’s

AdventHealth Meadow Woods is expected to bring 90 jobs to the area it services, including clinical and support positions. AdventHealth Celebration (Fla.) will oversee the facility. 

“By bringing emergency care closer to where people live, we can be present for our neighbors during some of their most urgent moments,” Michael Mewhirter, CEO of AdventHealth Celebration, said in the release. “This facility allows us to deliver whole-person care that supports not only physical healing, but also peace of mind for patients and families.”
