Novant Health deploys AI platform to predict, improve patient flow

Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health has tapped KenSci's artificial intelligence-powered platform to provide predictive insights that will be used to improve efficiency, patient satisfaction and overall care quality and outcomes.

The platform will use machine learning to analyze existing data from Novant's EHR system. As a result, care teams will be better equipped to predict patients' length of stay based on social determinants of health and other data, and to identify patients at risk of extended length of stay or readmissions.

"Novant Health is excited to partner with KenSci to improve the patient experience at our facilities," Eric Eskioglu, MD, Novant's executive vice president and CMO, said in a news release. "By using KenSci's artificial intelligence platform, Novant Health can effectively predict patient flows in the hospital, place patients in a bed in a timely manner and not only improve patient outcomes, but also patient satisfaction."
