The surge in market value is driven by the healthcare industry’s demand to use health data to improve system efficiency, deliver value-based care and enable productive collaborations, according to the report. Particularly noteworthy is the industry’s reliance on cloud environments for data back-up and disaster recovery.
“One major industry game-changer will be read-world data,” Natasha Gulati, digital health research manager at Frost and Sullivan, said. “The volume of unstructured medical and health data that is generated outside of clinical settings is growing exponentially, while the need for such data sets is even direr among providers, pharmaceuticals, medical technology vendors, government, and university researchers.”
