Epic, Microsoft top healthcare AI partnership targets

Hospitals across the U.S. have made big investments in artificial intelligence, with many integrating Microsoft and Epic AI into their workflows.

KLAS surveyed 256 leaders from hospitals, ASCs, payers and more about their AI use, with 113 saying they’re currently using AI in a meaningful way. Many of those who are using AI have focused on administrative and operational efficiencies, with 50 reporting valid use cases in those areas. Another 37 reported valid use cases in clinical applications and 24 reported financial use cases.

Fifty-four percent of the leaders surveyed said they were considering AI solutions in the future. The top companies being considered as AI partners were:

  1. Epic
  2. Microsoft
  3. Oracle Health
  4. Rad AI
  5. Workday

“The priority for most is establishing AI governance structures so they can appropriately balance innovation with regulatory compliance and vendor capabilities with established partners like Epic, Microsoft and Oracle Health playing key roles in AI expansion across healthcare operations,” according to the report.
