Providence Health & Services Western Montana and Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth announce joint venture: 3 things to know

Providence Health & Services Western Montana and Denver-based Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System have announced a new joint venture to create a coordinated care network in Montana, the Northern Rockies Healthcare Alliance.

Here are three things to know about the NRHA.

1. The NRHA's vision is "to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare for the residents of Montana."

2. The accountable care organization is designed to integrate other organizations, allowing it to expand services and functions across Montana and other regions served by the participating providers, according to a news release.

3. The NRHA and its participating providers will work with large self-insured employers, associations and payers to create alternative payment models "that ultimately deliver better quality and more efficient care at a lower cost to patients," the release reads.
