Whiteville, N.C.-based Columbus Regional Healthcare System filed plans for a new medical center in Delco, NBC affiliate WECT reported Oct. 20.
The 144,000-square-foot, 30-bed hospital would include space for surgery, emergency care with 11 treatment rooms and medical testing, including CT scans, X-rays, and ultrasound machines. It would also have a wing dedicated to cancer treatment.
The system has filed a certificate of need and is waiting for state health officials to review and approve its plans before moving forward with construction, the report said.
