Smith County Memorial Hospital (Smith Center, Kan.). Smith County Memorial Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital that includes a 28-bed long-term care unit. The hospital was built in 1951 and is currently constructing a new facility. In early 2015, the hospital launched a five-year campaign to raise $2 million for the new facility; currently the hospital has raised more than $1.3 million. iVantage Health Analytics named Smith County Memorial Hospital to its 2017 list of Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the U.S.
