Michael J. Dowling. President and CEO of North Shore-LIJ Health System (Great Neck, N.Y.). Mr. Dowling, who grew up in Limerick, Ireland, has been president and CEO of North Shore-LIJ since 2002 and previously served as the system’s executive vice president and COO. Mr. Dowling also has experience on the payer side of healthcare, as he was a senior vice president at Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield and also spent 12 years serving the New York State government. Currently, Mr. Dowling is overseeing a rebranding of the 21-hospital system, which will change its name to Northwell Health in 2016.
