Elizabeth G. Nabel, MD. President of Brigham and Women’s Health Care (Boston). A cardiologist and biomedical researcher, Dr. Nabel is a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston in addition to having served as president of Brigham and Women’s Health Care since 2010. In May, she was appointed chief health and medical advisor to the National Football League. Her previous administrative roles include director of the National, Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, where she established centers of excellence in developing countries to combat heart and lung diseases. She has been named one of Boston’s 50 most powerful people by Boston Magazine and was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Institute of Medicine, the Association of American Physicians and the American Society of Clinical Investigation.
