UPMC $1.3B hospital tower to open in 2027

Pittsburgh-based UPMC is set to complete construction on its $1.3 billion Daniel G. and Carole L. Kamin Tower in October 2026.

Patients will be moved into the space on Jan. 24, 2027, a UPMC spokesperson said in a statement shared with Becker’s.

In late July, UPMC received a $65 million gift from the Daniel and Carole Kamin and the Kamin Family Foundation for the tower, which is being built next to the existing UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.

The 900,000-square-foot, 17-story inpatient tower will comprise 636 private rooms and 450 adjacent parking spaces, according to UPMC’s website
