Carilion Roanoke (Va.) Memorial Hospital. With roughly 30 physicians, Carilion Clinic has one of the largest orthopedics group for an academic medical center in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Some specialties within the hospital’s orthopedic program include hand and upper extremities, foot and ankle care, orthopedic trauma and sports medicine, to name a few. The Roanoke hospital appears in the No. 20 spot on CareChex’s 2016 list of top hospitals in orthopedic surgery and has received a Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission for its joint replacement program. Carilion Roanoke Memorial is also Magnet-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
