Nebraska Medicine was named the No. 1 hospital overall in the state by U.S. News & World Report for 2016 and listed as a high-performing hospital for heart failure and heart bypass surgery in its common care ratings. The hospital earned a three-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and Magnet recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Nebraska Medicine was recognized by Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Blue Distinction Center+ for Cardiac Care. The hospital’s congestive heart failure program and acute myocardial infarction program are also the first and only programs in the state with the “Gold Saeal of Approval” certification from The Joint Commission.
