Hartford (Conn.) Hospital. Hartford Hospital has the largest breast cancer specialist group in Connecticut, comprising a multidisciplinary team of experts who consult with experienced cancer specialists at Hartford Hospital’s Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center Tumor Board on particularly difficult cases. The hospital offers breast cancer navigators to guide patients through the process from diagnosis to survivorship, and deploys a mobile mammography program to provide breast cancer screenings to women in surrounding communities. Hartford Hospital became the 28th hospital in the country and the first in Connecticut to earn a baby-friendly designation from Baby-Friendly USA in 2000. The hospital also ranked No. 20 on CareChex’s 2018 list of the top hospitals in the nation for patient safety in women’s health.
