William Waters, MD. Executive Vice President and CMO of Tanner Health System (Carrollton, Ga.). In his current role as executive vice president and CMO of Tanner Health System, Dr. Waters focuses on risk management, health information management, medical affairs and credentialing as well as clinical operations. He oversees the medical staff at the four-hospital health system and the more than 25-practice Tanner Medical Group. He previously provided care as an intensivist for the 12-bed intensive care unit at Tanner Medical Center-Carrollton (Ga.). He also laid the groundwork for growing the health system’s critical care services. In 2006, he received the Georgia Hospital Association’s Hospital Hero Award for his work as a hospitalist.
