Thomas Balcezak, MD. CMO of Yale New Haven (Conn.) Hospital. Dr. Balcezak was appointed CMO of Yale New Haven Hospital in September 2016. In his role, Dr. Balcezak addresses the needs of the hospital’s 12,700 employees, including a 4,248-member medical staff. He is also in charge of graduate medical education, patient safety, and clinical quality and regulatory readiness, among other responsibilities. Dr. Balcezak previously served as senior vice president and chief quality officer of the hospital, which was ranked among the top 20 hospitals for geriatrics and psychiatry by U.S. News & World Report for 2017-18.
