Douglas G. Merrill, MD. Executive Vice President and Chief Medical and Academic Officer of Renown Health (Reno, Nev.). As executive vice president and chief medical and academic officer of Renown Health, Dr. Merrill oversees the system’s efforts to provide high patient care and safety standards across its integrated network. Dr. Merrill also is responsible for educational land research initiatives for the system’s medical staff and collaborating with medical partners, including the Reno-based University of Nevada and Stanford (Calif.) Medicine. He previously spent time as CMO and senior associate dean for quality and safety and clinical professor of anesthesiology at the University of California Irvine.
