David Wessel, MD. Executive Vice President and CMO of Hospital and Specialty Services at Children’s National Health System (Washington, D.C.). In addition to serving as executive vice president and CMO of hospital and specialty services, Dr. Wessel is the Ikaria Distinguished Professor of Critical Care Medicine at Children’s National Health System as well as a professor of anesthesiology, critical care medicine and pediatrics at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. His research centers on cardiac critical care and pulmonary hypertension, as well as new perioperative care therapies for infants with congenital heart disease. He has more than 150 publications and is a principal investigator and member of the steering committee for the Collaborative Pediatric Critical Care Research Network sponsored by the National Institutes of Health.
