Angela Scioscia, MD. CMO of UC San Diego Health System. Dr. Scioscia joined the UC San Diego faculty in 1989 and was promoted to CMO of UC San Diego Health in 2004. She is responsible for ensuring patient safety and quality standards are met systemwide. She oversees the medical staff for the 390-bed UC San Diego Medical Center as well as the health system’s 364-bed Jacobs Medical Center and additional specialty centers. UC San Diego Health has around 1,500 faculty members and 2,800 students, post-docs, residents and fellows. An OB-GYN physician, Dr. Scioscia served as the director of UC San Diego Health’s Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment Center for 15 years before taking on her current role.
