William A. Bornstein, MD, PhD. Chief Quality Officer and CMO of Emory Healthcare (Atlanta). Dr. Bernstein was named chief quality officer of Emory in 2003 and CMO of the system in 2006. He also served as medical director of the Emory Healthcare Information Services department and was a leader in developing the system’s data repository and EHR adoption project. Dr. Bornstein has served on a number of national committees on using IT to improve quality, including the Risk Adjustment Task Force of the University HealthSystem Consortium and Professional and Technical Advisory Committee for the hospital accreditation process of the Joint Commission.
