Thomas Whalen, MD. CMO of Lehigh Valley (Pa.) Health Network. Prior to being named CMO of Lehigh Valley Health Network in 2011, Dr. Whalen was chair of the organization’s department of surgery and spent one year as associate CMO. He is past president of the Association of Program Directors in Surgery, was chair of the Residency Review Committee for Surgery and was a faculty member at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, N.J., for 17 years. Dr. Whalen is president of the board of directors of the National Resident Matching Program.
