Janice Newell. Senior Vice President and CIO of Providence Health & Services (Renton, Wash.). As CIO of Providence, Ms. Newell oversaw the largest U.S. implementation of Epic EMR system. The process took three years and Epic is now established in Providence’s 36 hospitals and 500 clinics. Before joining Providence in 2012, she was CIO of Swedish Health Services in Seattle and has more than 20 years of health IT leadership experience. Ms. Newell earned an MBA from Boston University and serves on the board of One Health Port in Washington State.
