Atrius Health (Newton, Mass.). Atrius Health is one of the nine remaining Pioneer ACOs. It has been in the program since its inception in 2012 and now covers roughly 31,000 Medicare beneficiaries. Based on the most recent available data, Atrius Health ranked in the top third of Pioneer ACOs in 2014 for overall quality with a score of 91.4 percent. It scored particularly well in physician-patient communication, health promotion and education, and several preventive measures, including blood sugar control in diabetic patients and identifying those at risk of depression. In 2014, Atrius Health earned $2.8 million in shared savings, which it applied to investments in care coordination, training, data analytics and information technology.
