Patient Death at UMass Memorial Medical Center in 2010 Involved Alarm Fatigue

A second patient died in 2010 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester partly due to "alarm fatigure," a phenomenon that occurs when nurses tune out patients' monitoring system alarms due to overexposure, according to a Boston Globe report.
