2 died in murder-suicide shooting at Florida Hospital

Two people died Monday morning in what appears to be a murder-suicide shooting at Florida Hospital's Tampa location, according to Tampa's NBC affiliate, WFLA-TV.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputies said the shootings occurred just after 7 a.m. in a room on the hospital's third floor, according to the report. The male suspect was found dead from a self-inflicted wound, they said, according to the report.

The victim, 41-year-old Alonna Tedesco was taken to the hospital emergency room where she died. Neither the shooter nor the victim was a current employee or patient of the hospital, according to the report.

"At this time Florida Hospital Tampa is open and caring for patients as scheduled today. We are actively supporting the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office with their investigation. The isolated incident that occurred this morning did not involve our staff or patients," the hospital said in a statement, according to the report.
