Police say the patient used a chair to shatter the window and then crawled out onto a two-foot landing where he jumped. The patient fell four stories and landed on a platform outside of the hospital’s maternity ward. He died shortly thereafter, according to the report.
“We are saddened by an unfortunate incident that occurred tonight at Community Regional Medical Center,” the hospital said in a statement to The Fresno Bee. “Our thoughts are with the patient’s family and out of respect for privacy, no further information will be released.”
